Profile

Sara Torres is an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Health at the Dalhousie School of Social Work where she teaches an Advanced Practice class on Acceptance & Commitment Therapy. Her area of specialization is Immigration and Refugees and she has numerous publications on topics such as Health Care Policy and Health Equity. Her research also involves child welfare (African Canadians, Indigenous peoples, Immigrants and refugees), interprofessional education, adverse childhood experiences and health outcomes in adults, social and economic development women’s leadership and youth leadership in rural areas, and social policy.
